This is the creation process for page two of my comic, “The Space Junk Punks” (available for purchase on this very site!). This page shows what happens when the punks get heckled, and how they respond!

STAGE ONE

The penciling stage is where I block in the composition, characters and dialogue. This stage is crucial in establishing the action and narrative flow!

STAGE TWO

The inking and lettering stage is where I carefully embellish the pencil lines and letters in ink, bringing them to life with a multitude of rendering techniques. I use a mix of fine liners, brush pens and markers to create dynamic textures and voluminous characters.

STAGE THREE

In the colouring stage I use a digital software to carefully colour every little detail I established in the last two stages. The colours serve the action, creating a sense of depth in the foreground to the background. My personal preference is to use bright radioactive colours that jump off the page.
